The Shoebox Shop is FOR SALE.  We are (reluctantly) going to retire.  At 70+ years of age and 20+ years of running a very successful Classic Car Restoration business/the largest restoration shop in the area.  

A total of 15,000 Sq. feet of working space on a 5-acre tract of land zoned commercial, with a 10 bay maintenance/fabrication shop furnished with 2 lifts and equipment as well as specialty tools pertinent to restoration.   Adjoining property has dedicated 4 bay body shop with equipment/tools as well as, separate facilities for sandblasting, clean up and upholstery operations. Included in this sale is a Ford F350 truck and 2 trailers, one enclosed/one open for necessary pick-up and delivery.

A 3 bedroom, 2 ˝ bath brick home is available, plus additional adjoining acreage (if desired). An additional feature to this property is a private State and Federal approved landing strip for small aircraft.

    1948 Chrysler Town & Country Woodie - Concours Winner - American Production - 10/04/08

This 1948 Chrysler Town and Country that was completely restored by The Shoebox Shop won the American Production class at the 1st Annual Louisville Concours d'Elegance held at Churchill Downs in 2008. John Potts, owner of the car, was presented with a beautiful trophy vase. 215 rare, elegant vehicles from 23 different states were nominated and accepted to attend this event. Ten automotive experts judged these beautiful works of art. These cars are considered to be the best of the best!

  

Keeneland, Lexington, Ky - Concours d'Elegance - Winner - Lost Legends - 07/18/09 

This 1948 Chrysler won 1st place in the "Lost Legends - 1946-1970" Class in Lexington, Ky. The restoration work by the Shoebox Shop excelled under the strict judging points system conducted by a 3 person team.  Visit the slide show on this website to view a quick version of this 48 Woodie restoration.  The total restoration was accomplished in 8 months by the Shoebox team and returned to Mr Potts in April 2008. 

 

Keeneland, Lexington, Ky -Concours d'Elegance -Runner Up -Lost Legends - 07/19/2014

This 1948 Chrysler Town & Country "Woody" was cordially invited to the 10th Anniversary event "2014 Winners Circle Reunion". Invited were, particapants, whose vehicles have won in their class, in previous Keeneland Concours in the past decade. All cars including the "Woody", were judged based on a 900 point system. We were awarded a beautiful champagne bucket and Red Ribbon for 2nd place.

The Shoebox Shop is a full service, one stop restoration center for your classic car or street rod.  Whether you wish to fully restore your classic car back to showroom quality or want to upgrade your classic car or street rod with all of the modern conveniences including: power windows, air conditioning, state-of-the-art audio systems, remote mechanisms, etc... The Shoebox Shop is the place to be.  We are located 5 miles from Elizabethtown, KY at Exit 91 off of I-65.  We encourage everyone to visit our facility and see first hand our equipment and examples and/or demonstrations of our work!

Although The Shoebox Shop is geared toward complete classic car and street rod restorations, we also service these cars.  These services used to be readily available from your local service stations that no longer exist.  If you own a classic car or street rod and you’re looking for experienced mechanics to service it, THIS IS THE PLACE.  We do everything from tune ups to complete rebuilds.  You can bring your car to us and know that it will be serviced with the upmost care.
